TapeBuilt ("TapeBuilt", "we", "us") is a football recruiting-film editing service. This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect through tapebuiltfilm.com and how we use it.
What we collect
When you apply or use our service, we may collect:
- Athlete information — name, high school, city/state, graduation year, position, jersey number, height and weight
- Contact information — athlete email address
- Parent or guardian contact information, when provided or required
- Social and profile links — such as Instagram, X/Twitter and Hudl profile URLs
- Footage links, timestamps and notes you choose to share
- The permissions and acknowledgments you submit
We may also collect basic, non-identifying usage data (such as page views) to understand how the site is used. We never ask for your Hudl password or any account login.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To process your order and confirm payment
- To contact you (and your parent or guardian, if applicable) about your order
- To build, revise and deliver your recruiting film and each Film Drop
- To review Founding Athlete applications received before paid orders opened
- To keep records of the permissions you have given us
- To operate, secure and improve the website
What we don't do
- We do not sell your information to advertisers or anyone else.
- We do not publicly display customer or applicant information.
- We do not share your footage or reel publicly without your permission and approval of the final reel.
Portfolio and social media use
TapeBuilt only features a completed reel or excerpts in its portfolio or on social media when the athlete (and a parent or guardian for athletes under 18) has given permission and approved the final reel. You can ask us to stop future use at any time.
Service providers
Trusted third-party providers process data on our behalf to run TapeBuilt — for example website hosting, database storage, email delivery and payment processing. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor; TapeBuilt never sees or stores your full card number. They may only use your data to provide those services to us.
Storage and security
Order and application data is stored in a private database that is not publicly accessible. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Minors
Our service is intended for high-school athletes. Orders for athletes under 18 require a parent or legal guardian's name, email and approval. We encourage parents and guardians to be involved throughout.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw portfolio permission, by emailing tapebuiltrecruiting@gmail.com. A parent or guardian may make requests on behalf of a minor.
Changes
We may update this policy as TapeBuilt grows. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
